DMPS Offers Free Summer Meal Program

DMPS will again offer breakfast and lunch over the summer months to children 18 and younger. The number of sites has grown, and so have the number of meals served. Last summer, DMPS staff fed children 28,722 breakfasts and 79,698 lunches. DMPS has sponsored a summer meal program for more than 30 years. Student Handprints Headed to California

The Kind-Hearted Handprints that were on display in the building are now on their way to Dignity Health Hospital in California where an organization called Kids for Peace will combine them with other student handprints to try and break the Guinness Book of World Records record for the largest collage of cut-out handprints. The current record is 30,006!

Tutoring Sign Up at South Union

Students who attend a Title I school in Des Moines may be eligible for tutoring services at no cost to their family. In order to be eligible students must attend one of the 25 Title I schools in Des Moines and meet low income guidelines. To learn more and to register, click on the headline.
