Owl Pellets in 5th Grade

The first unit of study in science for 5^th graders was The Human Body. The students had hands-on experiences dissecting owl pellets to find vole, mice, and bird bones in the pellet. Many of the pellets had multiple skeletons embedded in the fur mass. Students were able to compare the shapes of the different bones found with the human bone shapes.
