I was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa. I attended the University of Iowa where I majored in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood. I graduated in 2005 and then moved to Kansas City to teach kindergarten. I moved back to Iowa to be closer to my family and have been teaching in Waterloo since then. I have been a kindergarten teacher, 1st grade teacher, and Title One/Reading Recovery teacher. I completed my Masters Degree at Viterbo University and also obtained a reading endorsement during my graduate coursework. I am finishing my 14th year of teaching this spring. I enjoy spending time with my family and am relocating to Des Moines to be closer to my sister, brother-in-law, nieces, and parents. I enjoy going on walks, playing with my french bull dog, Delilah. I follow the Iowa Hawkeyes and Michigan State basketball. I am thrilled to be able to take advantage of all the wonderful opportunities available in Des Moines and become part of the South Union family. I am extremely excited to meet the students, families, and staff at South Union!
I was born in Vientiane, Laos. I came to Untied States when I was 14 years old. I lived in Marshalltown and moved to Des Moines when I graduated from Buena Vista College.
I have been with the Des Moines public schools district for 20 years. Out of the 20 years, six of them I have been a Special Ed. associate. I have been a kindergarten teacher for the last 14 years and enjoy watching the academic growth of the kindergarteners. If I am not teaching or spending time with my family, you can find me listening to my many different types of music (Thai, India, Lao, Chinese, Vietnamese, French), reading a book or doing Sudoku.
